May 2019 was a VERY busy month for me, but I couldn’t have been more thrilled about it. The second weekend in I got to photograph one of my very good friend’s beautiful wedding in Mankato, Minnesota.

I’ve known Laura for so many years; we worked retail together in our Minnesota State University days and even lived together for one amazing summer (every day at the pool, lots of chipotle, an excess of fruity alcoholic beverages, etc.). She is kind, funny, insanely gorgeous, and I knew her and Derek’s wedding day was going to be fantastic. So on this beautiful May weekend, we galavanted around downtown Mankato with a group of extremely fun-loving and amazing individuals, and partied the night away at the Courtyard Marriott!

In May I got to photograph this gorgeous fairytale wedding in Minnesota! There was some crazy weather happenings (we were ATTACKED by frozen rain in Excelsior!) but it ended up being a fantastic day.

With adorable Disney-inspired details and a perfect lilac palette (not to mention a gorgeous wedding party and a Bride with bomb makeup skills to boot) it was a beautiful day that I am so honored to have captured!

Y’all, I shot my first elopement this spring and it was everything I wanted and MORE!

I’ve known Tara for many moons; we went to high school together. She invited me up to Larsmont Cottages on the North Shore of Lake Superior for the night to capture their special day with close friends and family. Everyone made me feel so incredibly at ease and comfortable the whole time, I forgot I was working! Although it was a bit chilly, Adam and Tara were both pros and let me lead them into the snowy lakeshore to get some great shots! Speaking of shots… it was St. Paddys Day weekend so there maaaaayyy have been some consumption of a variety of green alcoholic beverages. When in rome!

It’s not everyday that you get to work a wedding at your own home! I was lucky enough to be asked by my Stepbrother and his Fiance if I would photograph their amazing day, which just happened to take place at my Mom and Stepdad’s beautiful lakeside house. Gorgeous weather? Check. Beautiful people? Check. Amazing fun times? Check. WHAT ELSE does one need.
